Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Vice President
SCOPE: Proactively works with multiple teams within the organization to help execute the Greater North
Fulton Chamber’s marketing strategy and tell the Chamber’s story.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing graphic
design, AV/video, social media, photography, and public relations projects. This individual helps maintain
workflow by coordinating the department’s administrative needs and specific daily, weekly, and monthly
graphic design, photography, and writing projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication Coordinator Job Duties
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for content generation, graphic design,
photography, video production, project execution, and general administrative tasks.
Graphic Design and Video Production:
Provides all printed and visual design for the following events.
• Collaborates with program managers to deliver
a successful product.
• Coordinates the project from conception to completion.
• Design North Fulton Focus Series event print and digital materials
• Design Golf Tournament event print and digital materials
• Design B.O.L.D. event print and digital materials
• Designs images and slides for the Lobby TV Display and Signage
• Annual Soiree, Awards, GNFCC Signature Events
• Social media and website
• Membership collateral
• Assist with video production projects – filming, editing, etc.
• Design ads for various publications as needed
• Other projects as needed
Website & Social Media Management:
• Maintain and develop new content on Chamber website including any new photos and coordinate any changes/updates as provided by Chamber Team. Coordinate website provider, hosting, and security.
• Coordinate sponsorship opportunities on website and weekly email
• Coordinate all social media activities across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
• Track and analyze website, social media, and digital marketing data
Communication and E-Communications:
• Coordinate and execute weekly and monthly member email communications
• Create monthly/annual marketing calendar to reduce message overlap and streamline communications
• Coordinate annual member survey and identify other survey opportunities
• Answer general communications queries
• Create content for communication platforms—social, web, email, etc.
• Use AP style to create and edit/proof content
• Supports the editorial and production needs for the Chamber’s annual publication
Membership Marketing & Communications
• Ribbon Cutting photography and support
• Ensure companies get their ribbon cutting photo and photos are promoted on Chamber communication platforms
• Post member news/press releases
• Staff and volunteer headshots
• Event photography support
Media Management:
• Create and coordinate press release activity to deliver influence and brand visibility
• Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts as well as key communications contacts with Fulton County and Cities in GNFCC footprint
• Send event information to media outlets
• Send post-event pictures to media outlets
• Provide information and coordination for media requests
• Coordinate monthly radio show on Business RadioX – coordinate 1-2 guests per month over 12-month
calendar using award winners, Chairman’s Circle, staff suggestions
Marketing/Brand Management:
• Ensure brand articulation and consistent communication of the Chamber’s desired image, position, and brand standards
• Creative lead on all Chamber marketing materials as well as collateral for Member Sales, Events, and Programs
• Coordinate with team to understand their marketing needs and provide support, coordination, and execution
• Coordinate external support in areas of graphic design, digital marketing, and marketing consultation as needed and approved
• Photography: Major Event Support, Grand Openings & Ribbon-Cuttings, Signature Events, Business After Hours,etc.
• Manage share site for photograph archiving and sharing
• Provide direction and creative oversight for local advertising, annual publications, signage, and
member gifts as appropriate
• Orders branded items—stationery system, lapel pins, pocket folders, customized ribbon, etc.
• Tracks supply for branded items
• Monitor brand messaging on all social platforms
Social Media Support
• Produce written and visual content for the GNFCC’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in the areas of visual arts, communications, and/or marketing from four-year college or university; or two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Canva
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro
• Familiarity with digital file formats (tiff, eps, gif, pdf) and the strengths and weaknesses of each.
• Knowledge of graphic design principles, a wide variety of media, and production methods.
• Basic knowledge of black and white and color photographic processes and conventional and digital print processes
• Extreme attention to detail required; ability to proofread effectively
• Outstanding storyteller – through words or pictures – with the ability to adapt verbal and written communication effectively, depending upon the audience
• Highly organized and motivated individual with the ability to establish and maintain schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
• Excellent customer service skills, in person, on the phone and in writing
• Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job
• Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of
responsibility.
Compensation
Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Chamber also provides a generous
benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401(k) compensation program with
employer matching. This position is in office and enjoys 20 paid holidays, and up to 15 days PTO with flexible
schedule for team members to prioritize family commitments. The Greater North Fulton Chamber is located at
10000 Avalon. Gated and dedicated employee parking is provided.
