Summary:         Manages and leads Marketing Department. Responsible for developing ad strategies for the bureau; oversees the creation of ads, collateral materials and marketing activities; responsible for identifying market opportunities and developing short and long-term marketing strategies with objective of attracting overnight business-these strategies should include advertising, enticing content on website, coordinating with Creative Services & Website Manager, Director of PR & Communications, Social Media Manager, conducting research and creating special packages & promotions. This position is responsible for supervising the Creative Services & Website Manager position and the Welcome Center Operations. Responsible for directing, monitoring, planning, and controlling the activities and functions associated with the on-going operations of all computer systems, infrastructure, hardware, software and telephone systems. Manages and maintains the Bureau facilities and equipment to include copiers, office machines and back-up records. Responsible for identifying industry trends, sizing/forecasting markets, and analyzing research results to create reports. Responsible for telephone systems; first point of contact for outside callers; manages all internal and external mail systems; assists President as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing, Advertising, Promotions:


Develop and implement specialized marketing plans, which include all marketing components-advertising, communications, website, public relations, direct sales, direct mail, publications, exhibits, sales promotions, collateral materials, and visitor information and services (lead coordination of team)


Develop the annual Alpharetta CVB marketing plan


Work with the state tourism office on tourism and convention cooperative advertising programs when appropriate


Perform managerial duties, such as analyzing information derived from sales and visitor information activities, preparing employee evaluations/reviews, as well as administrative duties such as preparing a budget, reports, and processing expenses


Manage the Bureau’s marketing budget


Research and stay current on travel trends (industry, individual travelers, group travelers)


Maintain national, regional, state and local profile in travel industry through associations, committees and marketing cooperatives


Oversee and manage the Welcome Center Operations


Research, identify and recommend publications that would give the ACVB the best exposure in order to target both business and leisure clients, to include International, National Regional, State, County, City and local clients


Create and maintain the development of the Alpharetta CVB Branding


Create all collateral including, but not limited to the Visitors Guide, maps, sales guides, facilities guides, seasonal promotions, shopping, dining, attractions, events, posters, fliers, banners, etc.


Write copy for publications, articles, editorial, advertorial as needed and/or directed by President & CEO


Develop database and document all publications and advertisements


Staff Welcome Center as needed


Develop Trade Show booths/pull up banners/fliers, etc. to support sales & leisure marketing efforts


Implement the consumer advertising objectives designed to reach the leisure travel market in the feeder markets Southern states


Produce & manage co-op marketing collateral for Hospitality Highway & other appropriate opportunities


Manage the advertising production schedule and oversee the creation of all advertisements


Oversee the Creative Services & Website Manager position and responsibilities outlined in the job description


Assist the Creative Services & Website Manager with any design issues relating to the website


Develop advertising program to determine which markets we need to target and maintain consistency


Operations:


Be contact for leasing company and repairs for office


Staff Welcome Center as needed


Provides instructions to staff on the use of the voice mail system; adds new staff members to voice mail
system; updates staff telephone list, including title and extension number changes.


Set up and train new employees on all technical equipment before they arrive or within 24 hours of arrival at latest


Inventory and keep an updated log for all equipment (printers, copiers, iPads, phones, fax machines) including serial numbers, current location and users name


Keep a current log of all software and software licenses purchased by the Bureau and passwords for all equipment/software


Oversee Voicemail messaging and message on hold


Troubleshoot computer issues with staff and server (network and e-mail) problems, Simpleview, e-mail, printers, phones, web site, and fax.  (It is understood that you need additional support in this area from time to time).


Interface with, tracking and managing our current technology vendors (phones, fax, printers and connectivity) by reporting problems to the appropriate vendors as needed


Notify the CVB staff of all service problems and expected down time and notify Alpharetta CVB staff when service is restored


Oversee automatic back up the servers to ensure that all information is protected


Act as the technology liaison between the Alpharetta Convention Bureau and the following:


- GDEcD


- Southeast Tourism Society


- Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau


- Destinations International


- Alpharetta Member Hotels


Review electronic newsletter and information dispersed by each of the above organizations and make recommendations and changes to the Alpharetta CVB’s technology arsenal


Prepare special audio-visual presentations, power point presentations, iPad presentations and working with audio equipment suppliers at various meetings each year


Assist staff with computer issues


Represent the Bureau at appropriate local industry events when requested by supervisor


Implement and maintain all system components associated with the file storage infrastructure


Responsible for the ordering, acquisition, inventory and disposition of hardware and software


Manage and oversee all technical operations including: Windows, mac, handheld devices, servers and storage administration, network and database architecture, wired and wireless networks, telecommunications and system security


Develop and review all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans


Maintain and update Crisis Management Plan


Plan the implementation and maintenance of computer systems supporting all aspects of the business


Manage and oversee all third-party outsourced providers and maintenance agreements
