About

Established in 2020, William’s House (WH) had a fervent mission to reshape perceptions of homelessness in the North Fulton area of Atlanta, Georgia. Our mission, built on values such as accountability, dignity, and a new hope, is to embark on a radical journey empowering fathers in recovery to achieve self-sufficiency and attain housing sustainability. In 2022, WH collaborated with United Way for a North Fulton County Homelessness Needs Assessment. The study's findings exposed a critical lack of support for homeless fathers in recovery, exacerbating recidivism throughout all of Fulton County. This discovery fueled WH to launch tailored initiatives addressing this gap, from promoting housing stability and financial literacy to empowering family dynamics, enhancing overall well-being, ensuring sobriety, and guiding career advancement. The WH revolution is addressing addiction-related homelessness and despair within Atlanta's vibrant community.

William's House has created a 24-plus month program built on six pillars to provide holistic support to their men with children. The first pillar, Housing Stability, aims to provide secure housing and promote homeownership. Secondly, Financial Literacy-Wealth Building focuses on budgeting, credit restoration, and wealth building. Next, Family Counseling enhances communication and relationships within families. The fourth, Physical & Mental Wellness, promotes well-being through activities like horticultural therapy and boxing. The fifth pillar, Sobriety Maintenance, supports ongoing recovery through 12-step meetings and sponsors. And sixth, Career Heights, directs individuals towards successful careers with vocational advocacy and scholarships for significantly higher wages than HUD’s affordability standard.
