About

Alcon, the global leader in eye care, provides innovative products that enhance quality of life by helping people see better. From a child?s first contact lens for nearsightedness to a grandparent?s intraocular lens implantation for cataract correction, Alcon innovations help people of all ages see the world more clearly. Alcon has a long history in Johns Creek, as it is the location of the former CIBA VISION headquarters. The 2011 merger of Novartis and Alcon united the strengths of Alcon, CIBA VISION and Novartis Ophthalmics into one eye care business, and Alcon is now the second-largest division of Novartis. Today, Johns Creek remains one of Alcon?s largest and most strategic locations, focused on production, R&D and distribution for its contact lens portfolio. Alcon currently employs more than 900 people at its facilities in Johns Creek, and is making a significant investment, expected to exceed $250 million, to expand the facility over the next three to five years. This expansion has the potential to create approximately 300 new jobs over the next several years to support engineering and science teams. ''As part of our commitment to support innovation and growth, Alcon is focusing on developing state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies for contact lenses to address unmet medical needs,'' said Rob Meyers, General Manager, Atlanta Manufacturing. ''Our contact lens portfolio includes some of the most innovative lenses in the industry, including DAILIES® daily disposable lenses, AIR OPTIX® monthly replacement lenses and FreshLook® color-enhancing lenses.''
