Village Park Senior Living in Milton is hiring Wait Staff & Kitchen Prep.

Description of Position:

The Wait Staff/Kitchen Prep Staff helps prepare and serve meals to all residents.

Responsibilities of the Wait Staff/Kitchen Prep Staff:

Take and serve food and drink orders. Always be aware of the special, soup, desserts, and any other specialties for that particular meal.

Smile! Provide excellent customer service that promotes resident satisfaction.

Arrange table settings and maintain clean and tidy tables.

Acknowledge table with appropriate greeting, by name if a resident, within 3 minutes of the time they are seated.

Check frequently with the table to ensure excellence in food and service.

Properly remove soiled dishes.

Ensure Serve Safe procedures are in place, especially hand washing, glove usage, labeling, and rotation.

Accomplish daily prep work according to the daily menu and/or as requested by the Lead Cook or Dietary Manager

Ensure proper storage and food handling adheres to all regulations and guidelines.

Follow the schedule of side duties for the server position.

Complete assigned closing duties.

Maintain clean and sanitized kitchen, equipment, and dining room.

Review and utilize the Community’s disaster preparedness plan for staff and residents to follow in case of fire, explosion, natural disaster, or other emergency, including interruption of electrical power supply, gas-heating supply, and water supply.

Assist in putting up food orders.

Help the Utility position and Cook as needed.

Attend regular staff meetings and safety meetings.

Function as a team and assist co-workers as the need arises.

Refrain from gossip with the residents and/or staff. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.

Position Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have an acceptable criminal background record check.

Must keep a current certification in emergency first aid and CPR.

Must have a clear tuberculosis screening upon hire to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment.

Must have a physical examination prior to employment and as required by the Community after an injury or illness to assure that the employee is physically qualified to work.

Must be willing to maintain valid Serve Safe certification.

Must be able to bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push, pull, squat, crouch, lift, and carry up to one hundred (100) pounds.

Must have training in emergency evacuation procedures, medical and social needs of the residents, resident’s rights, abuse and neglect reporting, infection control, medication assistance, dementia, and courses relevant to the job duties.

Must obtain the community’s required continuing education hours annually.

Employee must not be under the influence of alcohol or other substances while engaged in any work-related activity on behalf of the Community.

Employee must wear a name tag at all times while on the property or engaged in any work- related activity on behalf of the Community.

Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.
